Health @ Wellbeing-2017 Begin your journey to better health

Term 1 Hi All, Wow, how quickly 1st term has flown.  We welcome all the new families who have left their children in our care for the first time in 2017.  Separating from mums and dads can be a very difficult for some little people.  It’s lovely to have our old families return. We have had a busy term focusing on colours and finishing off with chocolate playdough and Easter egg paintings. Thank you to families for supporting Easter fundraiser hope the Easter Bunny comes to you all. See you the week commencing Tuesday the 18th April. Child Safety Standards have been reviewed and new child safety policy is in place.  Please ask staff for a copy if you wish. Thank you Bev and Vileena.

meac Artists

Tuesday mornings have been busy with the creation and preparation for hanging of works for the exhibition “Being Seen and Heard Through Art” Five of our artists will be contributing works. Esther has been organizing still life arrangements for artists to work from, consisting of large shiny purple eggplant, long green zucchini or flowers in vases. This way of painting gives the artist the chance to create a realist or contemporary work and have fun with colour and form. Edward has only been coming to the artist group for a short time and is sharing his clay skills with other members of the group. Anyone is welcome to come along on a Tuesday morning to MEAC and participate in our art group. Cost is $5 per morning and it is a friendly fun art sharing group for beginners or experienced artists. MEAC  Exhibitions Paintings from Members of the U3A Artists Group MEAC Art Gallery is currently hung with beautiful paintings by artists who work at U3A on Wednesdays. They include landscapes, animals, portraits and fantasy and are in a variety of mediums. There have been several works sold and the exhibition continues until April 18th. Being Seen and Heard Through Art “Being Seen and Heard Through Art” is an initiative of RIAC  (Rights Information and Advocacy Centre Inc) a disability Service and Support Organization in Shepparton. This exhibition is being organized by Bronwyn Huggard and will be opened at 5.30 pm on the 20th of April by James McDonald, Studio Manager from Arts Project Australia. I have seen some of the works to be exhibited and look forward to hanging them. There are some very beautiful and strong works. Please come along and support the artists, have a drink and some nibbles and see these fantastic works of art.                                                                                                                                                                                                     A recent initiative at MEAC has been a four week clay sculpture class. Participants had fun designing and then executing a medium to large form of their choosing to be glazed and fired in Kaye Poultons kiln.
